What each size carries

Class 2 copper conductor resistance per IEC 60228. Current capacity and voltage drop per BS 7671, method C (clipped direct), 30°C ambient, two loaded conductors, PVC insulation. Derate for conduit, bundling, and high ambient temperature.

Match the size to the circuit: 4mm² for a distribution sub-circuit, 6mm² for an AC or heavy socket circuit. Capacity falls when the cable runs in conduit, in a bundle, or through a hot roof space. Confirm the size for your load and run length with a licensed electrician.
