Four 16 mm² class 5 conductors — three phases and a neutral in one flexible sheath. 126 strands of 0.40 mm per core, PVC to 450/750 V, tabulated at 76 A with three loaded conductors on method C at 30°C. On a 400 V three-phase supply that is about 53 kVA (1.732 × 400 × 76 ÷ 1000), which is the band most portable gensets and site distribution feeds sit in. Generator installers, rental yards and site contractors are who buy it. The trade orders this size by the code 7/.064.

Check the coil before you pay for it
Every coil leaves our factory with a QR code printed on the packaging. Scan it and the factory record for that batch opens: brand, cable size, batch number, year of manufacture and conductor. Compare the batch number on screen with the one printed on your coil — if the two do not match, it did not come from us.

Size the tail against the set, not against a guess. A 40 kVA three-phase generator delivers 40 000 ÷ (1.732 × 400) = 57.7 A per phase. Over a 25 m changeover tail the drop is 57.7 × 25 × 2.8 ÷ 1000 = 4.04 V — 1% of 400 V, well inside the 5% BS 7671 allows on a power circuit, 20 V here. At the cable's full 76 A that 20 V is reached at 20 000 ÷ (76 × 2.8) = 94 m. Under 94 m the current rating is the limit; past it, the run length is.
The run from a 400 V genset to its changeover panel, at 76 A per phase — a set of roughly 50 kVA.
Temporary three-phase supply to site offices, cabins and tower-light boards, coiled and moved as the job moves.
Compressors, mixers and crushers that get towed between jobs and re-terminated at each one.
Who buys this size: genset dealers and their installers, construction contractors, and equipment rental yards. The circuit is a 400 V three-phase feed under 76 A per phase where the cable will be rolled, dragged and re-terminated — the case class 5 stranding exists for. Note the difference from its fixed twin: 16mm 4 core standard cable holds the same 16 mm² per core at the same 76 A, costs less, and is the right choice the moment the run is clipped to a wall and left alone. Above 76 A per phase there is no larger flexible in our range: go to 25mm 4 core standard cable at 96 A, or to aluminium for the bigger sections.
