Every coil leaves our factory with a QR code printed on the packaging. Scan it and the factory record for that batch opens: brand, cable size, batch number, year of manufacture and conductor. Compare the batch number on screen with the one printed on your coil — if the two do not match, it did not come from us.

Two buyers keep this size moving: the workshop wiring a three-phase machine that gets repositioned, and the panel builder making up a tail from a starter to a motor. Both are buying one jacket instead of four singles: three phases and a neutral land in a single gland, and the class 5 copper turns into that gland without springing back out of it. 32 A with three loaded conductors, clipped direct at 30°C, is about 22 kVA on a 400 V supply (1.732 × 400 × 32 ÷ 1000). That covers a small lathe, a compressor or a submersible starter. Size on the full-load amps printed on the machine plate, not the horsepower on the box, and remember a cable left coiled on its drum carries less than the same cable run out flat.

Worked example, using the numbers in the table above. A machine whose plate reads 10 A, on a 15 m tail from the panel: 10 × 15 × 11 ÷ 1000 = 1.7 V of drop, against the 20 V that BS 7671's 5% allows on a 400 V power circuit — under a tenth of the budget, which is normal for a tail. At the cable's full 32 A that 20 V arrives at 20000 ÷ (32 × 11) = 57 m. Tails are rarely that long, so on this cable heat and coiling set the limit rather than distance.
