Two 6 mm² class 5 conductors in one flexible sheath — line and neutral, no earth core — 84 strands of 0.30 mm each. 46 A with both conductors loaded, 3.30 Ω/km, 300/500 V, about 10 kVA on a 220 V single-phase supply. This is the heavy single-phase tail: an AC outdoor unit off its isolator, a pump on a starter, or the site extension a workshop runs its tools from. Made on the Pilone line in Lahore.

Check the coil before you pay for it
Every coil leaves our factory with a QR code printed on the packaging. Scan it and the factory record for that batch opens: brand, cable size, batch number, year of manufacture and conductor. Compare the batch number on screen with the one printed on your coil — if the two do not match, it did not come from us.

Nobody wires a house in 6 mm² flexible. What people buy it for is a tail or a lead — something that has to be moved, coiled or dragged, and that pulls more current than a 2.5 or 4 mm² cord will take. An AC outdoor unit off its isolator, a single-phase pump on a starter, a 25 m extension a workshop runs a welder from. 46 A with both conductors loaded, clipped direct at 30°C, is about 10 kVA at 220 V, which is far above what most single-phase equipment draws — and that headroom is the point, because a lead spends its life bunched, coiled and lying in the sun. Two cores means there is no protective earth in this cable: where the equipment needs its own earth in the same jacket, use 6mm 3 core flexible cable instead.
Isolator to a window or split outdoor unit, where the tail has to bend into the gland and take compressor vibration.
Starter to a 220 V motor pump. Size on the full-load amps on the plate and allow for the starting current.
Site and workshop leads for welders, saws and compressors that get dragged out daily and coiled up at night.
Worked example, from the table above. A 32 A load on a 25 m lead drops 32 × 25 × 7.3 ÷ 1000 = 5.8 V, against the 11 V that BS 7671's 5% allows on a 220 V circuit — half the budget, spent on a cable you can pick up and carry. At the full 46 A the 11 V arrives at 11000 ÷ (46 × 7.3) = 33 m. That is with the lead run out flat. Left wound on its drum the copper cannot lose its heat, the layers warm each other, and the safe current falls well below 46 A long before the voltage limit ever matters.
