Every coil leaves our factory with a QR code printed on the packaging. Scan it and the factory record for that batch opens: brand, cable size, batch number, year of manufacture and conductor. Compare the batch number on screen with the one printed on your coil — if the two do not match, it did not come from us.

The people who buy this size are pump mechanics and AC installers. Both jobs have the same shape: a fixed board at one end, a machine at the other, and a lead in between that has to bend without the conductor breaking up. Fifty-six strands of 0.30 mm per core is what makes that possible — the same 4 mm² in class 2 has only seven thick strands and will not take repeated flexing. Two core carries line and neutral only, so the earth has to arrive separately; if it needs to be inside the sheath, use 4mm 3 core flexible cable. For a run buried in a wall or clipped in conduit, the class 5 build is the wrong family and 4mm 2 core standard cable is the right one. Worked example — a 16 A pump 30 m from the panel.
Voltage drop is current × length × the tabulated 11 mV/A/m, divided by 1000. So 16 × 30 × 11 ÷ 1000 = 5.3 V, which is 2.4% of 220 V — inside the 5% BS 7671 allows on a power circuit, 11 V here. Load the same lead to its full 36 A and the 11 V budget is spent at 11 ÷ (36 × 11 ÷ 1000) = 27 m. The same 16 A load on 2.5 mm² flex would drop 16 × 30 × 18 ÷ 1000 = 8.6 V, which is why the jump to 4 mm² is a length decision as often as a load one. Check yours with the voltage drop calculator.
