Compare the batch number on screen with the one printed on your coil — if the two do not match, it did not come from us.

4mm² 2 core standard cable carries 36 A with both conductors loaded, clipped direct at 30°C, which leaves real margin over the 7–9 A a 1.5 ton air conditioner draws and over the 20 A MCB that protects it. Line and neutral only, so the earth arrives separately. The rate is quoted per metre at the day's copper price, and the coil figure follows from the length you need.
4mm² 2 core standard cable is rated 36 A with two loaded conductors on BS 7671 reference method C (clipped direct) at 30°C ambient. Its conductors are class 2 stranded copper, seven strands of 0.85 mm each, resistance capped at 4.61 Ω/km by IEC 60228, voltage drop 11 mV per amp per metre. In the bazaar the same size is called 7/.036, an imperial strand code that computes to 4.60 mm². Derate the 36 A for conduit, grouping and ambient above 30°C, and have a licensed electrician confirm the size for the run.

Worked at a real run: a 1.5 ton AC drawing 8 A over 25 m of 4mm² drops 8 × 25 × 11 ÷ 1000 = 2.2 V, against the 11 V that BS 7671's 5% allowance gives on a 220 V supply. Even a 30 A socket submain over 30 m only drops 30 × 30 × 11 ÷ 1000 = 9.9 V — inside the limit, but close enough that the next size up is worth pricing. Check yours in the voltage drop calculator.
A price without a unit tells you nothing, and this market prints plenty of them. Per foot and per metre differ by a factor of 3.281. Coil is not a fixed quantity either: 30 m, 45 m and 90 m packs are all sold, some sellers quote 301 ft, and 80-yard lengths exist. Get the length in metres in writing, then divide.

The copper column is a check anyone can run. Copper weighs 8.89 kg per km for every mm², so 4 mm² across two cores is 8 × 8.89 = 71.2 kg per km, and a 90 m coil holds 6.4 kg of bare conductor.
