Every coil leaves our factory with a QR code printed on the packaging. Scan it and the factory record for that batch opens: brand, cable size, batch number, year of manufacture and conductor. Compare the batch number on screen with the one printed on your coil — if the two do not match, it did not come from us.

Three core here means line, neutral and earth — not three phases. The earth core is the reason people buy this build rather than the two-core: every appliance with a metal body needs one, and running it separately down a bore or along a tool lead is not practical. Two cores carry current and the earth does not, which is why the rating is the 27 A two-loaded figure and not the three-phase one. At 27 A that is about 5.9 kW on a 220 V single-phase supply (220 × 27 ÷ 1000). If the earth is already at both ends, 2.5mm 2 core flexible cable does the job with less copper; for a bigger pump or a longer drop, step up to 4mm 3 core flexible cable at 32 A. One caution on the name: this is 2.5 mm², not 25 mm² — the submain size is 25mm 3 core standard cable.
Worked example — a 6 A pump 40 m from the panel.
Voltage drop is current × length × the tabulated 18 mV/A/m, divided by 1000. So 6 × 40 × 18 ÷ 1000 = 4.3 V, which is 2.0% of 220 V — inside the 5% BS 7671 allows on a power circuit, 11 V here. Load the same lead to its full 27 A and the 11 V budget is spent at 11 ÷ (27 × 18 ÷ 1000) = 22 m. On a deep bore the length runs out long before the current does — check yours with the voltage drop calculator.
