Check the coil before you pay for it
Every coil leaves our factory with a QR code printed on the packaging. Scan it and the factory record for that batch opens: brand, cable size, batch number, year of manufacture and conductor. Compare the batch number on screen with the one printed on your coil — if the two do not match, it did not come from us.

Bought by the coil during first fix. Three strands pull round a conduit bend more easily than a solid conductor of the same size.
The buyer here is a house wireman at first fix, ordering coils by the colour for a 5 or 10 marla build. 3/.029 is the lighting size and it should stay on lighting: socket circuits normally step up to the next code, 7/.029, which the trade sells as 2.5 mm² — see 7/.029 copper cable. For an AC point, a geyser or a stove the jump is bigger again, to 4mm (7/.036) single core copper cable. The honesty on the code cuts both ways: 3/.029 computes to 1.28 mm² and is sold as 1.5 mm², and Pilone labels by the same market convention every other maker uses, which is why both numbers are printed here. If you want a true metric 1.5 mm² conductor, ask for it by the mm² name — 1.5mm single core solid cable.
Worked example — a 5 A lighting circuit 30 m from the board.
Voltage drop is current × length × the tabulated 29 mV/A/m, divided by 1000. So 5 × 30 × 29 ÷ 1000 = 4.4 V, which is 2.0% of 220 V — inside the 5% BS 7671 allows on a power circuit, 11 V here. Load the same wire to its full 19.5 A and the 11 V budget is spent at 11 ÷ (19.5 × 29 ÷ 1000) = 19 m. That is short, and it is the reason long runs on a big plot move up a size even when the load has not changed — check yours with the voltage drop calculator.
