About 71 coils — 34 of 1.5 mm², 30 of 2.5 mm² and 7 of 4 mm² — which is roughly 6,320 m of single-core copper, plus about 105 ft of 25 mm² two-core main cable on a single-phase connection — three phase needs only 10 mm² four-core.
That is a single-storey 1 kanal house wired to 110 points on 22 circuits, pulled through conduit, with 15% cut in for wastage. Double storey takes about 131 coils. A coil is 90 m — the length the trade sells house wire in.
A single-storey 1 kanal house of about 2,900 sq ft covered area, wired to 110 points on 22 circuits, needs roughly 6,320 m of single-core copper conductor: 3,053 m of 1.5 mm² for lights and fans, 2,684 m of 2.5 mm² for socket, kitchen and pump circuits, 552 m of 4 mm² for five AC points and three geysers, and about 35 m of 6 mm² for the main earth. In 90 m coils that is 34 + 30 + 7 = 71 coils. Those figures carry a 15% wastage margin and assume conduit routing, one floor, and boards placed to keep runs short.
Technical sources quote metres. Shops sell coils. One standard coil of single-core building wire is 90 m, near enough 100 yards, so the conversion at the counter is metres ÷ 90, rounded up per size.
At 1 kanal, quantity stops being the only question. A 4,500 sq ft plot is where one distribution board stops being enough and where the connection itself may need to change from single phase to three. Both forks are worked through below, because they change the cable list more than any coil count does.

110 on a single-storey 1 kanal plan: 59 light and fan points, 42 socket points, 5 AC points, 3 geysers, 1 pump. Count yours off the approved layout.
18 m per point: its share of the circuit run back to a board, plus the ceiling rise and the switch drop. A 2,900 sq ft floor spans roughly 45 × 64 ft, which is why the runs are half again as long as on a 5 marla.
2.5 for lighting and fan circuits, where switch legs share neutrals; 3 for socket and appliance circuits, which each carry live, neutral and earth.
Lighting and fans: 59 × 18 × 2.5 = 2,655 m. Sockets and kitchen: 42 × 18 × 3 = 2,268 m. Pump, on a 22 m run: 1 × 22 × 3 = 66 m, giving 2,334 m of 2.5 mm². Five ACs and three geysers on 20 m runs: 8 × 20 × 3 = 480 m of 4 mm². Main earth: 30 m. Raw total 5,499 m. Add 15%: 5,499 × 1.15 = 6,324 m. Divide by 90 and round up per size: 71 coils.
Cross-check against the trade rule of 1.5–2 ft of conduit run per sq ft of plot. At 4,500 sq ft that is 2,060–2,740 m of runs, and at 2–3 conductors per run, 4,120–8,230 m of conductor. 6,324 m sits inside it. The method itself is on how much cable a house needs.

This is the fork that changes a 1 kanal cable list, and it is decided by the sanctioned load on your meter card, not by the plot size. A 1 kanal house is commonly sanctioned around 15 kW, which sits right on the line where utilities start offering three phase.
Single phase, 220 V. 15,000 ÷ 220 = 68.2 A. Over a 32 m (105 ft) run from a boundary-wall meter, 16 mm² copper carries 85 A and drops 68.2 × 32 × 2.8 ÷ 1000 = 6.11 V against an 11 V budget — it passes, but it has spent 56% of the whole house's drop allowance at the front door. 25 mm² carries 112 A and drops 3.82 V, 35% of budget. On a house this size, run the 25 mm².
Three phase, 400 V. The same 15 kW split across three phases is 15,000 ÷ (400 × 1.732) = 21.6 A per phase. That is a third of the single-phase current, so 10 mm² four-core copper — 57 A with three loaded conductors — carries it with room to spare, and drops 21.6 × 32 × 4.4 ÷ 1000 = 3.04 V against a 20 V budget on 400 V. The service cable gets much smaller; the board gets more complicated, because the house circuits then have to be split across three phases and kept roughly balanced.

Read your meter card before you buy any of this. If it says single phase, size for 68 A and do not assume a future upgrade will reuse the cable — a three-phase conversion needs a four-core run. The sizing rationale in full is on main meter cable and three-phase cable size.
Twenty-two circuits plus 20% spare is 27 ways. You could buy a 36-way board and run everything to it. On a 45 × 64 ft floor that is the wrong answer, because it forces every one of the 110 points to reach a single point in the building. The 18 m average run in the arithmetic above already assumes you did not do that.
The right arrangement is a main board near the meter carrying the incomer, the main switch, the earth bar and a handful of outgoing sub-mains, and then two or three sub-boards placed where the load is: one for the bedroom wing, one for the lounge, kitchen and utility side, one upstairs when the floor is built. Each sub-board is fed by a 16 mm² two-core sub-main and carries its own circuits.
Three things follow from that. Runs get shorter, so the coil count on this page holds instead of drifting up. A fault or a rewire is contained to one wing instead of taking the house down. And each sub-board gives you spare ways where you will actually need them — the bedroom wing is where the next AC goes, not the porch.
Budget one 16 mm² sub-main per sub-board, about 20 m each on this footprint. That is the row in the cable list above, and it is the item most 1 kanal wiring estimates leave out entirely.
Most 1 kanal houses are two floors. The upper floor carries about 85% of the ground floor's points — no lawn, no porch, no pump, no servant quarter — and takes its own board on its own riser.

At 204 points and nine or ten air conditioners a double-storey 1 kanal has effectively decided the phase question for you. Size the service for the finished building.
Ask for 1.5 mm² at a shop in Pakistan and you will be handed 3/.029. The strand code is the trade's real vocabulary and it is imperial: 3 strands of 0.029 inch. On a 71-coil order the difference between the code and the metric label is worth knowing.
